 Julio E. Rios, MD, MMM, FACEP, FACPE Medical Director, Baptist Medical Center South
- Dr. Rios graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, as well as receiving his Medical Degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in June, 1989. He also holds a Masters in Medical Management from Tulane University and is a Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives
- In addition to being board certified in Emergency Medicine, he also holds certifications for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support, and National Advanced Life Support. He has also served as an instructor for PALS, as well as teaching nurses, mid-level providers and residents.
- Dr. Rios joined Alabama Emergency Room Administrative Services, P.C., in June 1998, and has proven to be a valuable asset as well as an established leader. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the Emergency Department at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama, with a census of about 50,000 annually. Dr. Rios is constantly involved in group administrative functions, Emergency Departmental affairs, quality assurance, chart reviews, and scheduling. He has served as a facilitator in group meetings and has been key in developing and implementing patient care process improvements and clinical pathways.
- Dr. Rios continually remains active in many hospital affairs. He serves on multiple medical staff committees including the Emergency Department Committee, the Trauma Committee and its implementation of trauma protocols. Dr. Rios is also a member of many organizations including the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the Fellowship in the American College of Emergency Physicians.
